Carbon Core – custom made, raw bolo tie

Carbon Core is the second bolo tie that was created in our goldsmith atelier. We make these unique men's necklaces for individual orders for particularly demanding customers and I must admit that these pieces look particularly spectacular live.

This time there is a technical motif with all its industrial austerity inside a simple, geometric, sterling silver setting. The gears connected in an astrolabe-like shape give a new meaning to the "planetary gear" and constitute the title "core" of this art jewelry piece. Mechanical elements surrounding the main motif cut out another pentagonal figure from the shimmering background. And it is this background that gives the whole project a special character. The spatially arranged fragments of the carbon fiber fabric captivate with the three-dimensional, graphite-black reflexes of the carbon strands - subdued, associated with sport, endurance and advanced technology - these features we wanted to emphasize.

Instead of a traditional, braided, leather thong, we decided to go further in this original bolo tie and use a sporty sailing rope that looks like a carbon braided line.

In turn, two external elements referring to the pentagonal shape of a setting give this work a bit of a cyberpunk character. They are filled with a mixture of luminescent pigment glowing with a subtle blue glow.

This art bolo tie composition is fulfilled with sterling silver ends inspired with crystalline forms of metal.
