Double stars - long earrings of silver

A system of two stars formed of the same gas cloud is not unusual in astronomy - it is rather our lonely sun belongs to the minority. In general, these two stars have different masses, so their lives look totally different and their existence is dramatic: torn by transformations, they persist in a strong relationship.

The openwork, shining lines of gravitational forces connect the golden, bursting main sequents star depicted in the resin cabochon with its massive, neutron twin sister - crystal zircon.
